Sicilian Candied Pistachios

Tastes like a summer Italian night, sweet citrus, and fragrant spices. If a nut could be a cannoli, this would be it. Feel free to swap pistachios for any other nuts you may have on hand.

Bowl #1

1 cup [145g] roasted, unsalted pistachios

Bowl #2

1 egg white

1/3 cup [80g] light brown sugar

1 teaspoon orange zest

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon fiori di Sicilia

Pinch of nutmeg

Pinch of salt

1

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a baking sheet by lining with parchment paper.

2

Whisk together all the ingredients in the second bowl.

3

Add in the pistachios and toss to combine.

4

Evenly spread the pistachio mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.

5

Bake for 30 minutes. Let cool on the pan. Once cooled, break up into pieces and store in a cool, dry place.
