Snap, crackle, pop, creamy, marshmallowy, red, white, blue. If you can't find 4th of July Rice Krispies, use regular Rice Krispies and add in a handful of red and blue sprinkles.
Bowl #1
15 ounces or about one standard-sized box of 4th of July Rice Krispies (or regular with the addition of sprinkles)
5 ounces or 1/2 bag of mini marshmallows
2 packets of Pop Rocks
In a saucepan:
1 1/2 sticks of butter
15 ounces or about 1 1/2 bags of mini marshmallows
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
Tiniest pinch of salt
1
Prepare a 9x13 inch pan by generously spraying with non-stick spray. It also helps to spray your spatula or wooden spoon with non-stick spray.
2
Toss together the cereal and marshmallows in the first bowl.
3
Over medium low heat, melt together the butter, marshmallows, vanilla, and salt. Keep stirring and cooking until the mix is completely smooth and melty.
4
Pour the melted marshmallows over the bowl of cereal and mix until thoroughly combined.
5
Pour the cereal + marshmallow mixture into the pan and use your spatula to press the treats evenly across the pan. It's helpful to tear off a piece of parchment paper the same size as the pan and place directly on top of the treats. Press down lightly across the top to evenly spread.
6
Let cool for a few hours at room temperature or speed up the setting by place in the fridge for an hour.
