Caramelized Oats


The perfect addition to a bowl of yogurt, cakes, pie, trail mix or granola, muffins, or just by the handful. Make a big batch and store in your freezer to have on hand at all times.

 

In a large bowl

1/2 cup (107g) light brown sugar

4 tablespoons (55g) butter, melted and cooled

1 cup (125g) classic oats

Splash of vanilla extract

Splash of almond extract

Tiny pinch of salt

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In the large bowl, stir together all the ingredients until well combined. Spread evenly on the prepared pan.

Bake at 325 for 10 minutes. Remove the pan and give the oats a good stir. Place back in the oven and bake for another 13 minutes or until golden brown and caramelized. Remove and let cool completely.
